Lake Whatcom is one of Bellingham‘s defining features and home to some of the most distinctive waterfront real estate in Whatcom County. The shoreline stretches from the eastern edge of Bellingham through Silver Beach and Geneva, past Sudden Valley, and south into the surrounding foothills. As of October 2026, Lake Whatcom single family waterfront homes have a median sale price of $2,012,000, based on 14 closed sales over the past year.
From October 2025 through early October 2026, 14 Lake Whatcom single family waterfront homes closed with a median sale price of $2,012,000 and an average sale price of $2,160,500. Half of these homes sold within 24 days on market, with sale prices ranging from $1,225,000 to $4,150,000.
One waterfront condo also closed during the same period, a Lakeside North home in Silver Beach that sold for $910,000.
As of October 22, 2026, 10 waterfront properties are active on Lake Whatcom: 9 homes and 1 condo. The median asking price for homes is $2,725,000, with listings ranging from $1,495,000 to $4,650,000. The waterfront condo is listed at $785,000.
For context, Bellingham houses sold at a median of $708,000 from mid-April through early October 2026 (see our Bellingham housing market page). Lake Whatcom waterfront homes represent a very different segment of the Bellingham real estate market, with location, shoreline, views, docks, privacy, and the individual property all playing a significant role in value.
